We are currently recruiting for a Process Engineer to join our fantastic team at our Mountsorrel Quarry, in Quorn, near to Loughborough in Leicestershire. Mountsorrel Quarry is the largest open Granite Quarry in Europe and we want you to be part of the team. This role is commutable from Quorn, Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray, Coalville, Shepshed, Syston, Glenfield, Ibstock, Sileby, Kegworth, Nottingham, Derby, Grantham, Matlock, Tunstead, Derby, Dene, Ashbourne, Oakham, Bardon Hill and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
The Process Engineer will report directly to the Production Manager and will be instrumental in the measuring and analysis of production performance. Safety and operational standards are the fundamentals of the role, with cost control and performance improvement being key. Along with this you will be managing operational compliance within the realms of our business policies and procedures and ensuring that legislative compliance is also a strong aspect of the role.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities of the Process Engineer, not exhaustive:
- Manage aspects of daily monitoring of production activities with your focus on “what good looks like”
- Analyse our manufacturing processes by researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment - providing solutions
- Analysing data to discover areas that need improvements and upgrades
- Timely resolution of queries assigned to the sector
- Take responsibility for their own safety and that of colleagues and business partners
- Delivery of performance toolbox talks
- Maintain site housekeeping to a high standard
- Responsible for the budget in relation to the areas of the phase you are responsible for, these being both fixed and variable costs
- Monitor energy usage with the aim to create KPIs and other value adding performance targets.

- Business Manager - Area Director - Health & Safety team - Procurement and support teams - National Logistics team - Area Operations teams - Area Commercial teams - Area HR Manager - Industry Bodies - Customers
The ideal candidate must be able to provide flexibility to meet with the site production needs.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate for the position of Process Engineer you will have experience and knowledge of:
ESSENTIAL Experience and/or Qualifications
- Experience in Quarry operations - Previous experience of a mineral processing environment would prove highly beneficial
- Working knowledge of production processes and analysis
- Working knowledge of and commitment to H&S and Environmental policies
- Able to actively identify and implement site and process improvements
- An analytical mind with driving cost savings that will benefit the company
- High level of operational IT – use of all Microsoft packages, with Excel being a strength
