We are currently looking for a Production Inspector to join our team based in Dunbar Cement Plant, Scotland.
We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.
Role Responsibility
The Production Inspector will primarily carry out first level inspections of the Works’ grinding and pyro production lines by means of visual, audible, sense of smell & touch. Any issues are then reported by the inspector to the relevant departments by raising Notification Requests and Work Orders through SAP PM. Examples of production inspections include but not limited to monitoring all conveying systems, dust plants and raw material quantities.
A key aspect of this role is to monitor process preheater tower operations and take preventative and corrective actions to maintain process stability and efficiency. Actions include conducting daily blaster surveys, eliminating sources of false air ingress, and cleaning to remove internal build-ups in the cyclones and meal chutes. Other activities may arise when collaborating with the optimisation team to help identify issues with other production processes and assisting with production tasks on Preventative Maintenance (PM) days.
The successful applicant will ensure that the production plans are adhered to, meeting the demands of the Plant as part of the production team, whilst responding to any additional tasks that may arise around the site.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be flexible, self-motivated and possesses a positive attitude in their approach to work. A commitment to maintaining and improving Health and Safety and Environmental standards is also essential. The successful candidate must be willing to develop themselves and undertake further relevant training to meet the needs of the company.
