Production Manager

We are currently looking for someone to join our team as a Production Manager to join our friendly team at Dunbar Cement Plant.

Role Responsibility

In the role of Production Manager you will be working within the Senior Management team at Dunbar, the role requires a manager with a proven track record within the cement industry preferably within the industrial/operations areas and who is looking for a challenging and rewarding role at a senior level.

The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the Production functions at Dunbar Works, including Shift operations. 

You will play a key role in Dunbar’s Management Team with responsibility for the achievement of relevant Key Performance Indicators, and strategic planning for the long term future of the plant.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Production Manager will have proven experience of managing a function and a team in a results orientated environment as well as experience of:

  • Chemical Engineering Degree
  • IOSH or equivalent qualification, NEBOSH would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience of RCA techniques
  • Practical and Technical (Selection) experience with refractory is required
  • Knowledge and practical experience in Preheater and Kiln Operations with high level of Alternative Fuels is required.
  • Experience and good knowledge of the following:
    • Safety and Environmental laws and regulations
    • The Cement Manufacturing processes: raw meal preparation, burning, combustion and grinding.
    • Product quality parameters, quality control procedures and tests
    • Computer aided systems for kiln and mill operation
  • Production management and planning
  • Change management experience and skills
  • Proven people management skills including managing teams/team building and development of people.
  • Negotiation, influencing and conflict management skills.
  • Technical writing ability
  • Prepared to travel from location to develop skills, share knowledge and best practices and implement changes as required.
  • Willingness to work a range of hours including shifts, to support the department’s operations.
