Quality Assurance Manager
Job Introduction
We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our growing team based in Solihull. In this exciting and challenging role you will be working as a key member of the HSEQ function. This role will lead the audit team to deliver the Tarmac assurance programme across multiple disciplines to ensure compliance with legislative and corporate requirements. The successful candidate will need to develop and maintain the audit schedule for the Tarmac business covering both internal and external audits as well as working to establish comprehensive mechanisms to monitor and report on progress.
In addition, the post-holder will oversee the ongoing continual improvement of quality management processes as part of the Tarmac Integrated management system.
Role Responsibility
In this role you will be responsible for a number of tasks including:
- Ensuring a clear deliverable assurance programme is developed, agreed, and effectively implemented
- Issuing and maintaining associated quality documentation in line with business requirements
- Providing coaching and line management to the QA team to ensure the team are challenged and developed to deliver maximum value to the business
- Liaising with 3rd Party registration and accreditation bodies as required
- Organising periodic management reviews to facilitate a structured review and promote forward planning and action to improve the operation of management systems
- Accompanying external quality assessors when identified as appropriate
- Taking a proactive approach to ongoing training and development for the team and personally to ensure continual professional development is a core commitment
- Supporting the overall business, contributing to projects and delivering key messages
- Conducting data analysis and identifying connections between audit and complaint trends
- Promoting the sharing of best practice from other functions and areas of the business with the wider QA team
- Providing data to support the development of a SHEQ dashboard and business reports
- Leading and coordinating top level system and re-certification audits across all standards
- Maintaining awareness of SHEQ issues and compliance requirements through ongoing CPD and attendance at local briefings and discussions
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be degree qualified or have the relevant equivalent experience. Ideally you’ll be a member of the Chartered Quality Institute (or equivalent) or another appropriate engineering institute. If you are a member of the International Register of Certificated Auditors auditor that would be helpful too, but more important is your proven experience in developing and rolling out a strong quality management system in complex business environments. You’ll have demonstrable experience of changing a business mind-set to the benefits that well developed management systems can offer and have demonstrable experience of conducting audits, problem solving, coaching and training in both group and one to one situations.
In addition you’ll be at ease understanding the relevant standards and the relevance of audit issues to cost and risk and be able to produce high standard reports detailing product and process knowledge using a variety of software applications. An understanding an appreciation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and other management standards would also be ideal.
