RMX Technical Quality Manager

Are you a technical leader with deep expertise in concrete production? 

Do you thrive on driving quality, innovation, and operational excellence? 

We are looking for an experienced RMX Technical Quality Manager to lead our Technical Team in delivering high‑quality, assured products to our customers at our Tarmac London East Silvertown Concrete Plant.

In this key leadership role, you will steer product quality, reduce remedial issues, optimise mix designs and manufacturing processes, and provide technical guidance across the wider business. If you’re passionate about developing people, improving processes, and driving continuous innovation, we want to hear from you.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the Technical Team to deliver a consistently high-quality range of products to customers.
  • Drive reductions in remedial issues to improve profit margins and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure Health & Safety remains the top priority across all team activities.
  • Manage resource allocation within the Technical team for maximum service effectiveness.
  • Motivate, coach, and mentor the team—creating a high-performing, engaged, and innovative culture.
  • Establish clear performance indicators and support ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Optimise sampling and testing processes to maximise product reliability and effective resourcing.
  • Meet or exceed financial targets through efficient management and cost control.
  • Build deep product knowledge within the Technical team to help identify and avoid potential pitfalls.
  • Introduce and oversee processes for identifying quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Use creativity and innovation to enhance existing products and develop new customer offerings.
  • Stay up to date with technological advancements that could add value to our products and services.
  • Develop strategies to introduce customers to alternative products, highlighting tailored benefits.
    What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

  • Recognised concrete production qualification (e.g.UoD/Concrete Society), with maintained CPD.

Experience

  • Extensive experience in concrete-related roles, including testing and product development.

Skills & Knowledge

  • In-depth understanding of concrete and related mineral products.
  • Strong background in product design methodologies—from concept through to implementation.
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance systems and procedures.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate using evidence-based reasoning.
  • Strong customer service ethos with high expectations for team delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to adapt style to suit different audiences.
