Quality and Systems Advisor

We are currently looking for a Quality and Systems Advisor to join our friendly team based in the South West and Wales region. This is a home based role however you will be required to audit sites across the whole region so suitable candidates may be located near any one of our regional sites which include (not limited to) Bristol, Frome, Bridgend and Cardiff.

Working closely with both the Quality and Assurance Manager and other Quality & Systems Advisors to provide targeted, consistent and focused support and advice in matters of compliance to HSEQ within the Business. This role will both support and be key to the development of a strong HSEQ culture.

Role Responsibility

Reporting to the Quality and Assurance Manager the Quality and Systems Advisor will be responsible for implementing, embedding, auditing and advising on the use of various company Management Systems, (Quality, Environmental, Energy and Occupational Health and Safety), to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and 3rd Party registrations/accreditations. By thorough and constructive auditing and advising you will facilitate the building of a definitive picture of the understanding, compliance and commitment to the Management Systems by staff.

The role of Quality and Systems Advisor will also be responsible for:

  • Taking an active role in helping staff identify the root cause of issues and encourage continual improvement in all aspects of the business
  • Planning and undertaking routine internal audits (Quality, Environmental, Energy and OH&S), of all active operational sites and processes within allotted geographic area. Perform non-routine internal audits or revisits when appropriate
  • Organising periodic reviews to facilitate a structured review and promote forward planning and action to improve the operation of management systems
  • Accompanying BSI or other external quality assessors when identified as appropriate to benefit the business
  • Taking proactive approach to ongoing training and development for all staff, assisting where appropriate
  • Supporting Commercial and Operations teams with regional issues relating to quality management, e.g. tender enquiries, bid submissions, site or term contracts, etc
  • Supporting best practice approach to handling and investigating customer complaints, exploring any connections between audit and complaint trends
  • Maintaining awareness of all HSEQ issues through attendance at local briefings and discussions and working closely with the HSE Advisors to build a cohesive HSEQ team in the region.

Due to the regional spread of this role there will be a requirement, most weeks, for at least one overnight stay and also some limited night work to facilitate the audit of the contract gangs.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Quality and Systems Advisor will have experience of working in a similar role within an industrial sector implementing, embedding, auditing and advising on the use of various company Management Systems (Quality, Environmental, Energy and and Occupational Health and Safety).

Suitable candidates for the role of Quality and Systems Advisor will also possess:

  • Recognised Management System Lead Auditor qualification advantageous (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 or 50001) however training will be given should the ideal candidate not have auditing qualifications
  • Experience conducting or participation in compliance audits advantageous
  • Problem solving skills including root cause analysis
  • Ability to coach and develop staff
  • High standard of report writing and communication skills
  • Ability to engage and influence at all levels
  • Product and process knowledge advantageous
