Quantity Surveyor

We are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team on the Transport for London Kier/Tarmac HM&P contract, based in Snodland.  We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Senior Area Quantity Surveyor, you will work in conjunction with the operational team to deliver projects as part of our TFL contract from design concept through to completion. You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating with partners, contractors and clients and other stakeholders
  • Ensuring on site Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Overseeing the measurement and preparation of valuations
  • Preparing and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts
  • Recording, monitoring and reviewing the financial performance of contracts
  • Managing financial accounts and reporting to senior management on the framework performance
  • Liaising and presenting to the client on the framework performance
  • Securing payments from customers within the specified contract terms and manage payment of subcontractors

The Ideal Candidate

This is a varied, complex and rewarding position that requires a proven Quantity Surveyor who has previous experience in a dynamic operational role. The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience within the Civil Engineering industry
  • Have previous management experience
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Be flexible in their working approach
  • Be motivated
  • Possess problem solving skills
  • Possess numeracy and analytical skills
  • Good IT skills specifically on spreadsheets, databases and the ability to adapt to bespoke software packages

Qualifications

  • HND/Degree is desirable but not essential
