Recycling and Sustainability (RAP) Manager - Midlands

We are currently recruiting for a Recycling & Sustainability (RAP) Manager to join our team based in our Midlands Region. This role would suit candidates living in the regions covering Birmingham, Leicester, Loughborough, Hinkley, Lichfield, Tamworth, Coventry, Nuneaton, Derby, Rugby.

Role Responsibility
As the Recycling & Sustainability (RAP) Manager you will have worked in a similar industry and will have experience of working in this highly demanding environment. You as the Recycling & Sustainability (RAP) Manager will:
- Agree the Recycling & Sustainability (RAP) Strategy with the CI Manager, Area Operations Managers, Commercial Manager and NRP Director
- Identify opportunities to win planning’s work and contract negotiation and pricing, along with delivery of works to meet budgeted Recycling & Sustainability (RAP) demand
- Produce a plan to deliver planning’s meeting customer and Tarmac requirements
- Design, rollout, and Report KPI’s and performance vs forecast and budget
- Close communication with External and Internal Customers to ensure excellent relationships are maintained
Other responsibilities for this role will include:
- Review supply and demand and adjust the Recycling & Sustainability (RAP) strategy as required
- Manage and promote close communication with the Logistic and Distribution team to optimise the use of internal haulage
- Ensuring close communication with the Commercial team to ensure that SAP routines are followed and prices, quotes, jobs are all correctly implemented
- You will work extremely closely with Unit Managers TAMs / Transport Manager, Distribution team & W/B clerks, link room, Commercial Teams, Pave Contract managers, Area Ops Managers, NRP Business Unit
You may have involvement with:
- Assessing and planning the resources required to deliver the planning’s recovery program successfully
- Ensuring all documentation has been correctly completed and SWMP are returned correctly as required
- Ensuring close supervision of out of hours work and immediate action drills are in place to ensure that unplanned events are managed appropriately
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in the role of Recycling & Sustainability (RAP) Manager prior experience of working within industry sector is preferred, particularly in this operational role.
In the role of Recycling & Sustainability (RAP) Manager you will also have:
- Excellent Interpersonal skills to engage a wide variety of stakeholders at varying levels
- Determination to optimise performance with a continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to overcome obstacles with flexibility and adaptability to manage conflicting demands
- Good oral and written communication, alongside strong negotiation skills
- Good IT skills specifically on spreadsheets, databases, and the ability to adapt to bespoke software packages
- Safety awareness and knowledge of Asphalt Surfacing and the Planning’s process
- Strong Logistical knowledge to deliver the strategy in the most cost-effective way, supporting interaction with Hauliers & TAMs
