We are currently looking for a Batcher to join our friendly team based at Tarmac’s brand new site in Washwood Heath in Birmingham. 

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Plant Supervisor, you will be responsible for mixing and pouring asphalt to specification. You will be working with a team focused on great customer service, especially providing good quality material and on-time deliveries to a varied customer base. You will work collaboratively with the rest of the team to plan the mixing program, ensuring that stocks are maintained, replenished and distributed in good time. You will also carry out inspections on the plant and carry out housekeeping tasks and basic daily maintenance. 

The Ideal Candidate

You do not need previous experience of working with asphalt as we can provide full training from our friendly teams at other local sites. However, you do need to be a passionate learner and committed to learning new skills. You will also need to work in a collaborative manner and rise to challenges as this is a brand new site we are opening. You will also be curious and motivated to drive not only your development, but to help with the growth of the team too. A commitment to high safety standards, both for yourself and your team, will also help to make the site a success. Finally, good customer service skills and the ability to build friendly rapport with a wide range of people would be beneficial.
