Job Introduction

Tarmac’s resourcing team is responsible for delivering a professional and responsive recruitment and selection service to the entire business. We operate in an extremely busy environment where we deliver volume hiring across operations and corporate functions, at all levels, nationally.

Our Resourcing team has been successful in reducing our reliance on hiring via external agencies, saving cost within the business. We have improved the candidate experience by delivering slick and efficient hiring processes whilst remaining approachable to job seekers. We service the entire business and have built our credibility by providing exceptional communication to our stakeholders within the business.

On top of this, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment, as it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds. You can check out what employees and candidates say about us at www.glassdoor.com/tarmac.

We’re now looking for a Resourcing Advisor to join our team and be responsible for supporting Operations. You’ll have a specific focus on engineering, production and general operational roles. As a team we hire around 700 people per year and it would be usual for you to have multiple roles to work on at any one time. This is a busy and rewarding role and we are seeking a highly motivated individual with previous experience in a fast paced role.

Role Responsibility

As a Resourcing Advisor, you’ll typically be involved in carrying out the following activities:

  • Working closely with your stakeholders to deliver a quality recruitment service. This includes determining the role to be recruited, key skills and accountabilities and writing compelling advertisements which drive responses via job boards and social media.
  • In order to attract a suitable calibre for roles you will be required also to contact candidates directly using direct searching tools including LinkedIn Recruiter and CV Library.
  • Managing the hiring process from end-to-end, which includes placing advertisements, acknowledging all responses, screening candidates against key criteria and presenting shortlists to hiring managers.
  • Using an Applicant Tracking System daily you will ensure candidate information is updated regularly and kept in line with GDPR regulations.
  • You’ll be as hands on as your hiring managers need you to be. Some are experienced recruiters and happy to manage the process themselves. In these instances, you’ll ensure they are following the correct processes, acting impartially and providing feedback in a timely manner. For those requiring additional support, you’ll join them in interviews, taking notes and providing feedback where required. Similarly, you may challenge where required to ensure we’re hiring the best people for the business.
  • Scheduling interviews and feedback calls is an important part of the role, so you’ll need to be organised, and able to plan your workload effectively.
  • Suggesting and implementing ideas which make us more effective as a team will be part of your job and from time to time you may be involved in projects which support talent acquisition.
  • Managing multiple recruitment campaigns at different stages of their lifecycle. The role can be incredibly busy and you’ll need to be able to manage and control all vacancies and candidates.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role we ideally will be looking for a candidate with recruitment experience within an in-house/agency environment. Experience of using an ATS system and of following recruitment processes is essential.

You’ll feel an affinity with our values – ambitious, collaborative and proud. On top of that, we’re looking for experienced recruiters from agency or in house teams. The skills and behaviours we look for include:

  • Being Customer focused. It’s important you understand how to set and exceed expectations in relation to the recruitment and selection process. This will be backed up with demonstrable knowledge of recruitment delivery processes.
  • Candidate sourcing skills. Including Boolean and x-ray searching. We’d like you to bring ideas of new ways to identify and select great talent.
  • Communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You’ll be an excellent communicator, both written and verbally. This may include producing reports, spreadsheets and presenting to the business where required.
