Rope Access Manager

Role Responsibility

As a Rope Access Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of Rope Access deliverables on Griffiths projects, ensuring all company procedures relating to working at height are communicated and adhered to by Rope Access Supervisors and Technicians. 

You will report directly to the Operations Director and will be responsible for: 

  • Providing H&S leadership to Griffiths Rope Access Teams and promoting behavioural safety improvements.  

  • Providing technical advice on Rope Access aspects of proposed and current projects to senior members of the project teams and their stakeholders. 

  • Ensuring that Rope Access Team(s) rigorously adhere to business lifesaving rules. 

  • Completing company Rope Access RAMS 

  • Reviewing and approving RAMS provided by sub-contract organisations employed to undertake working at height 

  • Mentoring Rope Access Supervisors and Technicians. 

  • Identifying refresher and specialist training for Rope Access Technicians. 

  • Providing subject matter expert advice when tendering projects. 

  • Maintaining effective client/stakeholder relationships  

  • Ensuring Rope Access Supervisors organise and motivate teams to safely meet the required programme milestones.  

  • Conducting visits to check that the Rope Access Supervisors and technicians are working safely in accordance with the identified risks and are complying with the control measures identified in safety documentation. 

  • Conduct Internal audits, ensuring compliance with IRATA ICOPS.  

  • Ensure equipment is stored correctly, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with company procedures and IRATA ICOP. 

  • Participating in safety/incident investigations as required. 

  • Maintaining professional standards, outlining behavioural expectations to ensure morale and productivity is maintained. 

  • Applying the principles of workplace respect on site. 

  • Ensure all key Rope Access personnel hold the correct competencies for their responsibilities. 

  • Uphold the core company values, inspire, and encourage the same throughout the Rope Access Team. 

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role, you must safety conscious, dependable, have a good attitude to work and be prepared to work in a challenging environment. We are looking for a reliable and experienced Manager with knowledge in the Geotechnical and arboricultural sectors of the construction industry. We are looking for someone who really wants to make a difference and be involved in the development of our growing business. 

Experience/Skills 

  • Have experience of rope access planning 

  • IOSH or Nebosh qualified 

  • Extensive managerial and communication skills 

  • Experience in; rail, civil engineering, construction, and geotechnical works. 

  • Have a full driving licence  

  • IT Literate 

  • Candidates must be flexible and willing to travel or lodge if required to sites across the business if required.
