Shift Engineer (Fitter)

We are currently looking for a Shift Engineer (Fitter) to join our friendly team based in Alfreton. This role will require someone to work on a 24/7 continental shift pattern.

Role Responsibility

In the role of Shift Engineer (Fitter) you will be responsible for: 

• The maintenance and repair of production machinery, both planned and re-active maintenance.
• Working closely with all members of the facility, reporting directly to the Shift Manager and Engineering Manager,
• Effectively carrying out preventative maintenance tasks and responding in a timely manner to breakdown repairs
• Must have a keen eye for continuous improvement and health & safety.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Shift Engineer (Fitter) will have experience in a similar role as well as:

• Strong mechanical and fabrication skill set
• Good problem-solving skills
• Completed apprenticeship in engineering or equivalent qualifications
• Experience as a factory fitter / plant maintenance engineer with knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Good communicator
