Shipper (RMX)

We are currently looking for a Shipper to join our friendly ReadyMix team working on a 12 month fixed term contract, based at Tarmac Mountsorrel site, Quorn near Loughborough, Leicestershire. As well as Quorn and Loughborough this role is also easily accessible from Leicester, Melton Mowbray and the surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities 

Reporting directly to the Distribution Manager the Shipper will be responsible for processing orders and coordinating the day-to-day deliveries of ReadyMix concrete by vehicles owned and operated by Tarmac third party haulage base. 

Responsibilities for this role of Shipper will include: 

• Engaging with customers to receive and processReadyMixconcrete orders
• Scheduling delivery times in line with customer expectations    
• Working alongside the distribution team and the wider area transport team to provide a cost effective, sustainable, safeandcustomer focused transport operation for the business
• Management of compliance and legal requirements both from a statutory, industry and Tarmac perspective ensuring all contract and/or third-party hauliers areoperatingto Tarmac standards, practices, and procedures
• Strategically planning and building relationships with Third Party haulage suppliers through contract negotiation
• Working with the Logistics and Production Managers to provide a medium to long term plan to meet demands

This role is a Monday - Friday role on a rotating shift pattern (7am – 4pm and 8.30am – 5.30pm) and Saturday mornings when required (approx once per month) 

The Ideal Candidate 

The ideal candidate for the role of Shipper will have worked in a similar industry providing support to a wider team. Whilst industry experience is preferred it is not essential. If you have proven customer service or distribution / route planning experience in an office based environment, and you enjoy working as part of a team then this role may be of interest. 

Suitable candidates for the role of Shipper will have: 

• Proven experience working collaboratively within a team to ensure all tasks are completedin a timely mannerand to a high standard
• Good communicationskills (verbal and written)and confidence tobuild rapport and positive relationships with customers and colleagues 
• Desire to work as part of a team and the confidence to challenge processes and behaviours
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work
• Ability to provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Strong problem-solving skillscombined with numeracy and analytical ability
• Commercially minded approach
• Determination to succeedand to drive and leadimprovements
• Ambition to learn new skills and achieve your own personal goals, as well as business goals
• Working knowledge of Microsoft IT packages (SAP and CRM systems preferred)
