Site Agent
Job Introduction
Tarmac is recruiting for a Site Agent in the Midlands, for Europe’s largest infrastructure project, HS2. HS2 Ltd will be the UK’s new high speed rail network. As well as improving capacity, the new scheme will shorten journey times between a number of Britain’s major population centres, boost the economy and create thousands of jobs.

Role Responsibility
The successful candidate will have a wide variety of responsibilities including:
- Participate in pre-contract site visit in determining project needs
- Contribute to the production of target price and programme submission
- Co-ordination of Labour, Materials, Plant & Sub-Contractors in accordance with the requirements of projects for maximum utilisation
- Liaise with Client’s Representatives, Statutory Undertakers Representatives and the General Public (as required)
- Site Administration (including Site Record Sheets, Site Diary, Site Incident Reports, Waste Transfer Notes, Statutory Inspections, Labour, Plant and Material records)
- Planning and programming of projects
- Plan the establishment of Temporary Site Offices compliant with statutory legislation and company standards
- Monitor Site Progress to relevant managers
- Monitor cost and value and provide information for commercial staff to enable accurate and timely completion of monthly and final accounts
- Manage all operations in accordance with the Company’s HR Policies and Procedures
- Manage training needs in line with site requirements
- Undertake reviews of performance and productivity to investigate and eliminate waste from the process
- Manage the operations process and identify areas for improvement and take action accordingly
- Produce and manage Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Plans for each scheme under their individual control in accordance with Company Procedures (includes Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Temporary Traffic Management and Accident Reporting)
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- HND/HNC or equivalent qualification (desirable)
- CSCS card
- Demonstrable experience particularly in Civil Engineering
- Computer Literate
- People and project management skills
- Valid drivers licence and able to drive
- Team leader with organisational skills
- 5 Day Site Safety Management Certificate. Commercial and Contractual awareness
