We're now recruiting for a Site Agent for our Barmouth Railway Viaduct Timber project who will be responsible for the safe execution of projects from construction phase mobilisation to hand back, in accordance with company policies, procedures, and Network Rail Standards. You'll also be responsible for the timely and commercially advantageous delivery of assigned projects.

Role Responsibility

  • Providing Health and safety leadership to your operational delivery teams and promote behavioural safety improvements
  • Ensuring that the site teams rigorously adhere to Network Rail’s Life Saving Rules and reporting requirements
  • Promoting and implementing sustainable business objectives
  • Achieving gross site margin target as set by the business
  • Supporting, when required, the estimating and planning process for allocated schemes/region
  • Ensuring sufficient and competent resources are in place for the delivery of assigned contracts and business and project objectives are communicated to your team
  • Developing and maintaining programmes through the project life cycle and ensure works are delivered against the contract programme
  • Leading the project risk management process and ensure effective controls are established to support the safe and timely delivery of the project
  • Ensuring project opportunities are identified and realised to maintain and improve the commercial project performance
  • Promoting and maintaining effective client/stakeholder relationships to protect and enhance the company's reputation to assure repeat business
  • Upholding the core company values, inspire and encourage the same throughout the team
  • Ensuring that all mandatory reporting of KPI's, Close Calls, accidents and incidents are carried out as per AGC and Network Rail procedures
  • Ensuring effective planning of labour, plant, materials & subcontracts undertaken, protect the Gross Site Margin (GSM) working within tender allowances & report non-conformance in the period CVR
  • Liaison with statutory undertakers, stakeholders and clients as required
  • Ensuring all project documentation for the compliance with the Rail Management System is produced and approved as per programme and contract requirements
  • Supporting the tender process including review of pre-tender information, planning, estimating and quality submissions
  • Compliance with the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 and the Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006
  • Ensuring site staff development and training needs are identified and undertaken
  • Identifying any proposals for improving environmental sustainably, safety and quality performance with regards to construction methodology

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role you will ideally have experience within a similar position. Ideally within the rail industry. You will also:

  • HND Civil Engineering or similar
  • Ideally have around 6-10 years’ experience in a similar role, but any other relevant experience may also be taken into consideration
  • High level commercial acumen
  • Excellent leadership, communication and IT skills
  • PTS & CSCS Card Holder
  • SMSTS or equivalent
