Site Supervisor

We are currently looking for a Supervisor to join our fantastic team based in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. This role will be working Monday to Friday.

This is a varied, complex and rewarding position that requires the right attitude. Tarmac can offer a robust training programme to the right candidate following a probationary period. Training includes various mobile plant and safety related programs.

Role Responsibility

Reporting to the Cluster Manager, the Supervisor role will be a varied position where no two days will be the same. On a day to day basis, the successful Supervisor's duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Supervising the day-to-day site activities to ensure the safety of everyone on site, labour resources are maximised to fulfil production & delivery requirements, and all management systems are adhered to.
  • Coordinating the weekly production schedule to comply with S&OP production targets and ensure finished stock is maintained within min/max stock requirements.
  • Managing daily finished goods collections and raw material deliveries to the site, ensuring all paperwork is correctly received and all dispatch tickets are correct.
  • Monitoring and investigating product failures, making adjustments and / or recommendations to improve performance.
  • Monitoring the production processes and adjust schedules as needed to account for peak and reduced demand periods.
  • Supervise production employees to ensure they are aware of, and comply with, all company policies and procedures, meet performance levels, and undertake training as required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking to hear from candidates who ideally have prior experience in the following:

  • Experience in production supervision
  • Knowledge of plant maintenance
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Knowledge and experience of manufacturing processes
