Strategic Planning Manager (Real Estate) - Fixed Term Contract

We are currently looking for an Strategic Planning Manager to join our friendly team based in the North West, Cheshire and North Wales. This role will be home based with travel to sites across this region so location can be flexible. This role is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Role Responsibility
The Strategic Planning Manager is part of a team ensuring continuity of mineral reserves and land by negotiating land rights and obtaining Planning Permissions. This role covers both new development and maintenance of rights and permissions for existing operations in Northern England and North Wales.
During this particular contract period your work will touch on land management but will focus on the management of planning applications and EIAs. You will working closely with external specialists, regulators, neighbours and other stakeholders. You will also help provide advice to operational colleagues on compliance with existing planning permission. Experience in wider land management aspects will be advantageous.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in the role of Strategic Planning Manager you will have:
- Relevant previous experience of the practical and legal aspects Planning process in England and Wales and Environmental Impact Assessment
- Excellent written and spoken communication and organisational skills.
- Strong self-management and a commitment to building and maintaining key skills
You will be able to:
- Work with internal and external specialists to explore technical inputs and project designs
- Engage with Communities, Regulators, landowners and consultees
- Manage and instruct external consultant teams and expenditure
Qualifications
Chartered through RICS, RTPI and/or IEMA professional bodies. Previous experience in Minerals Planning or Estates is not essential and transferable skills in relevant fields will be considered. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop sought after skills and specialist experience.
