Are you a Sub Agent experienced with Roads/Highways projects?
Founded in 1968 Griffiths are a sustainable Construction Contractor that helps connect communities through delivering Road, Rail, Water, and Utilities projects. We are currently looking to recruit a Sub Agent to join our team to work on our St Austell A30 Link Road highways project. We are open to applicants currently acting as a Senior Engineer looking to make the step up.
The project consists of the construction a new off-line 6km carriageway. As well as the road construction works, there will be new structures: two precast bridges, multiple culverts, attenuation ponds, accommodation tracks and detrunking and active travel facilities.

Role Responsibility
As Sub Agent you will have worked in a similar industry and will have experience of working on civil engineering projects. Sub Agent responsibilities include:
- Complying with all HSQE systems and implementing on site.
- Managing and measuring on site productivity and performance.
- Ensuring that works activities are carried out efficiently to specification and agreed programme.
- Managing procurement and performance of sub-contractors.
- Maintaining and developing customer relationships and delivering and measuring Customer Satisfaction.
- Optimising targeted financial contribution for the scheme.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will have previous Sub Agent experience or an extensive Civil Engineering background with experience of Highways/Road Construction projects. They will also have had exposure to Drainage and Earthworks within their previous roles and had exposure of managing a similar team dynamic.

Education/Certification Requirements:
- Preferably a further education qualification e.g. Degree or HND/HNC (ideally relatable to Civil Engineering)
- CSCS qualification
- SMSTS
- First Aid at work (desirable)
Other:
- Able to work site hours Mon – Fri 07.30 -17.30 – to be reviewed during the Summer Months
- Able to work occasional nights and weekend shifts.
