Joining our team as a Supervisor you will be based at our office in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, where you will be entitled to a highly competitive salary and a great range of benefits.

Role Responsibility

In this role you will be responsible for managing labour, plant, materials and subcontractors on site to ensure that all construction activities are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with works orders, budgets and quality requirements. You will work closely with the project Quantity Surveyor and have responsibility to develop and maintain relationships with Client Engineers and Supervisors.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all projects/sites comply with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality processes and procedures
  • Leading and developing the site team to drive best practice and continuous improvement
  • Maximising profit and commercial returns on each project
  • Defining overall team workload, planning and allocating day to day work priorities and allocating manpower for daily tasks
  • Monitoring workload and results

The Ideal Candidate

For this role, we would expect the successful candidate to:

  • Have Supervisory experience within the Civil Engineering industry. Experience of works within highways sector is preferred.
  • Have Service Technical knowledge
  • Ideally hold a Health and Safety qualification (IOSH)
  • Be IT Literate – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)
  • Be able to work to deadlines
  • Have effective communication skills
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence

Qualifications:

  • Construction Qualification – NVQ 3 or similar
  • CSCS Qualification
  • SMSTS/SSSTS/IOSH
