We are looking for a Surfacing Contracts Manager to join our team based in London.
The purpose of this role is to provide leadership, guidance and direction to the local team, ensuring that all stated objectives, aims and targets associated with the contracts are achieved whilst building strong and lasting relationships with our Clients.

Role Responsibility
Reporting directly to the Contracts Director you will be responsible for:
- Driving performance improvement in relations to safety promoting a zero tolerance towards accidents and by instilling a culture of Health and Safety best practice by setting a personal example (ongoing)
- Ensuring working practices and procedures are followed, to the highest quality and cost control.
- Leading and ensuring delivery of the forward Programmes of works
- Developing and maintaining key client relationships
- Working closely with Tarmac to maximise the use of internal products and services on the contract
- Driving performance improvements within the contacts and share best practice across the business
- Effective management, coaching and development of all direct reports and drive full employee engagement
- Ensuring best practice and continuous improvement across the contract to deliver high quality services to our Client
- Working closely with the Contract Director and Commercial Team, the Contract Manager will ensure the team maximise financial returns on all aspects of the contract
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will possess proven management experience, ideally within Highway Surfacing Schemes and with experience providing leadership to complex contracts. They will also possess:
Skills/Knowledge:
- Product / Service Technical Knowledge
- Health & Safety IOSH or equivalent Certified
- IT Literate Word Excel, Project and PowerPoint
- Operational technical Knowledge
- Estimating / Costing / Financial Management Systems
- Proven Management experience
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Effective communication skills
- Have experience of machine and hand lay surfacing
- Be knowledgeable of Highways surfacing
- Be a good communicator and have experience of working with stakeholders of various seniority levels
- Be able to work independently but also as part of a team
- Be motivated
- Hold a valid UK driving licence
- Have a flexible working approach (in terms of working hours)
