We have a fantastic opportunity for a Survey Manager to be based at our head offices in Abergavenny, South Wales. This role is commutable from some of the following locations - Abergavenny, Blaenavon, Abertillery, Ebbw Vale, Tredegar, Crickhowell, Usk, Griffithstown, Cwmbran, Pontypool, Newport, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouth and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
As a Survey Manager, you will be responsible for managing the safe and cost-effective utilisation of all surveying equipment. You will also implement, develop and monitor training plans for apprentice engineers ensuring consistency and be checking the competence of agency engineers ensuring compliance with standardised systems.
Your responsibilities will include (not exhaustive):
Manage the external survey equipment
Manage GPS machine control throughout the business
Applying for Capex to purchase surveying equipment
Applying fleet numbers to purchased equipment and update on syrinx
Developing training to ensure a standardised approach for Apprentice Engineers
Monitoring external suppliers of survey equipment
Arranging training on surveying equipment
Arranging training for Plant Operatives on GPS machine control
Supporting sites with fault codes on survey equipment /GPS machine control
The Ideal Candidate
Qualifications/Requirements/Capabilities:
- ESSENTIAL - Professionally Qualified/Academically Qualified CSCS Card
- ESSENTIAL - Applicable Civil Engineering Qualification HNC/HND/Degree
- ESSENTIAL - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Civil Engineering
- DESIRABLE - Previous experience of Topcon site link machine control
