Sustainability Advisor - Sustainable Construction

We are currently looking for a Sustainability Advisor – Sustainable Construction to join our team based out of our head office in Solihull. The role reports to the Senior Manager – Sustainable Construction.
In this key role you’ll be responsible for providing sustainability certifications and product information to maximise commercial advantage from the sustainable construction agenda. You’ll work to support the business to embed sustainability in product and project offers, by understanding and responding to both customer and clients’ needs, and by supporting the upskilling of commercial teams. The successful candidate will also support the development of sustainability messaging for Tarmac product information and support Tarmac in its awareness and influence to meet the challenges of future built environment sustainability regulations.
Role Responsibility
In this role you will be responsible for a number of tasks including:
- Coordinating and implementing traceable processes and support systems for all required sustainability data reporting and certifications in relation to customer tenders and engagements
- Developing responses and presentations to customer enquiries, tenders and in support of other customer/client engagements
- Managing process and compliance with key customer certifications including Achilles Building Confidence, ECOVADIS, DNVL, RISQ, Social Value etc
- Supporting the Sustainability Advisor Performance and Compliance with the provision of accurate and timely sustainability data for customers, including reports, carbon footprints, Environmental Product Declarations and Life Cycle Analysis
- Preparing and delivering training to support commercial teams to win business from sustainability
- Managing sustainability content on website, intranet, sharepoint, knowledgebank etc
- Producing information to support product sustainability positioning and offers
- Developing sustainable solution guides and other publications to support customers in selecting the most sustainable option
- Supporting the development of sustainable product and project offers.
- Supporting the development of positions on key sustainable construction issues, including building and product codes and standards, ecolabelling etc
- Undertake peer benchmarking as required
- Representing Tarmac interests on relevant trade and other external bodies on sustainable construction topics.
The Ideal Candidate
To succeed in this role you’ll require a number of key skills including:
- Knowledge of sustainable construction, technologies, and products
- Knowledge of sustainability responsible sourcing and social value schemes
- Excellent leadership and personal management skills enabling the ability to work autonomously, manage multiple streams of work and be a self starter
- Ability to communicate and present complex information simply & clearly
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with a high level of analytical ability
- Proven technical competency with good communication and influencing skills
- Excellent team working skills with the ability to understand and assess complex technical issues
- Confidence and ability to manage and prioritise complex tasks
- Proactive in identifying opportunities to improve current processes
- Fine attention to detail
- Flexible and keen to take on and learn new tasks and skills and customer focused
