Technical Sales Representative

We are currently looking for a Technical Sales Representative (Concrete) to join our team in March, Cambridgeshire. We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Taking responsibility for offering overall VAP concrete solutions and pricing work
  • Managing on site operations (including H&S) and long term customer support
  • Managing relationships with key customers, engineers, architects contracts managers and subcontractors
  • Major contribution to sector profitability through sales of VAPs and margin
  • Actively contributing  to improving the sector’s safety performance by complying with the company’s health and safety procedures with the objective of eliminating injury/accidents
  • Working with key customers (directors, contracts managers, quantity surveyors, engineers and buyers) to develop value added solutions
  • Maintaining long term relationships at a senior level
  • Working with architects and engineers to assess project needs and develop solutions 
  • Supervising the pricing of concrete and placement activities based on drawings supplied by customers 
  • Ensuring correct contractual arrangements and appropriate T’s & C’s in place
  • Managing all on site activities to ensure correct quality of placing and finishing achieved 

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within a fast-paced technical sales environment. You will also:

  • Have the ability to operate at a high level, managing customer relationships, maximising margin, spotting and converting opportunities 
  • Possess particular skills in understanding customer needs and building long term trust and commitment through high quality service 
  • Possess knowledge of concrete products and site practices, understanding of construction methods and processes 
  • Understand the commercial processes in the business, the procedures to be followed and the operating boundaries for pricing decisions 
  • Have excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Have experience of liaising with stakeholders of varying seniority levels
  • Have technical acumen and be able to negotiate and influence in a positive manner
  • Be able to plan and prioritise accordingly
  • Be motivated
  • Be able to work within set timeframes
