RF Sept 22 - Technician (Part Time)

We are currently looking for a Technician to join our friendly team on a part time basis, based in Tarmac, NLTI, Ettingshall, Wolverhampton.

Role Responsibility

In the role of Technician you will be responsible for:

  • Receive samples, organise stocks, and deliver samples to different sites.
  • Testing samples, including cutting and trimming. 
  • Perform housekeeping duties and support fixing stuff.
  • Perform routine yard and safety checks.     
  • The role holder would also be required to undertake routine calibration of laboratory equipment and be able to understand and communicate the results & take responsibility to ensure all testing meets the required internal and external standards.
  • This role is responsible for accurate analysis within the statutory legislation and the internal company Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental Standards.
  • Ensuring housekeeping and visual standards are maintained across the laboratory setting in line with health and safety, being proud of your equipment and working environment
  • Adhering to all company rules and policies and show positive attitude.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for Technician will have experience within a similar role, as well as:

  • Clean and full driving license.
  • Laboratory experience in similar industry is preferable but not essential.
  • IT literate, particularly with Windows applications is preferable.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • FLT licence preferred but not essential as training can be provided.
  • Experience in the calibration/maintenance of lab equipment desirable however training will be provided.
  • The ability to work out of hours calls when needed.
  • Knowledge of sampling and testing preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures (training will be provided).
  • Ability to prioritise and make decisions, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Resilience
  • High level of attention to detail
