We are currently looking for a Technician - Pave to join our team at Birtley.

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Senior Technician, the suitable candidate will be responsible for: 

• Onsite technical duties on various networks 

• To carry out QA checks on inbound materials to UKAS standards

• Carrying out product compliance testing relating to the relative business unit.  

• Logging the results and communicate non-conformance, with a view to ensuring corrective action is taken.  

• Maintaining awareness of site practices and quality procedures and act where these may adversely affect product quality.  

• Comply with Company safety policies and promote a high standard of safety awareness  

• Carry out product sampling and testing in line with procedures and British Standards  

• Complete documentation and ensure this is filed correctly, and input test results into the appropriate system  

• Advise management/supervisor or production teams when quality standards are being compromised and instigate action to rectify or prevent non-compliance  

• Assist Senior Technician with complaint investigations 

The Ideal Candidate

It is preferred that applicants are educated to a Level 2 Technical NVQ although other equivalent qualifications may be accepted. 

As our ideal technician you will have:  

• Working knowledge of test procedures and material specifications  

• Working knowledge of Company systems,  control systems and procedures skills  

• Good understanding of company Health & Safety policy & procedure and reporting requirements  

• A current full clean driving license  

• IT literate to use technical and production systems  

• Commercial awareness
