Traffic Management Supervisor

We are currently recruiting for a Traffic Management Supervisor to join and lead a Traffic Management team.  This role will be located from our site in Chester-Le-Street and you will be required to provide travel across the Northern region; up to the Scottish borders.

Role Responsibility

As the Traffic Management Supervisor you will be responsible for the successful delivery of traffic management schemes by Tarmac and or our sub-contractors. As well as this you will provide guidance on traffic management matters on behalf of Tarmac Traffic Management to our clients on whose contract/contracts upon which we are operating to ensure their objectives and targets are achieved leading to the successful overall delivery of the project.

 

You will also manage the traffic management providers on site (either internal or external providers) to obtain the best possible commercial result for the project and successfully manage any challenge process/processes which Tarmac’s client/s may possess.  You will work as part of the wider operations and commercial team to achieve the best possible results.

 

Other responsibilities for this role of Traffic Management Supervisor will include:

  • Effective planning, programming and delivery of programme of works
  • Achievement of Company and Contractual KPI’s
  • Achievement of, and year-on-year improvement of Contract/Scheme KPI’s
  • Ensure change controls are diligently managed on site
  • H & S – Zero accidents and environmental incidents
  • Effectively manage site teams to ensure career progression and competency is achieved
  • Work collaboratively with Tarmacs Health, Safety & Wellbeing advisor to promote best practice across all works
  • Ensure all Health and Safety standards are being adhered too across all works
  • Ensure training qualifications and competence requirements are in place and monitored for all employees within their team
  • Ensure any CDM regulations (principle contractor responsibilities) are being adhered too across all works
  • Ensure environmental processes and best practice across the contract
  • Ensure traffic management compliance
  • Ensure all Health & Safety briefings are delivered to teams
  • Promote Near miss reporting
  • Collaborate, promote and develop Health, Safety and wellbeing innovations

The Ideal Candidate

It is preferred that the successful candidate for the role of Traffic Management Supervisor will have the following:

*ESSENTIAL*

  • NHSS 12A/B Foreman
  • A certificate of Site Safety Management gained within the last 5 years - IOSH Managing Safety or SMSTS 
  • Experience in construction and all highways works
  • Experience in Highways Maintenance at a Supervisory level
  • A valid UK driving licence

 

*DESERIABLE*

  • NHSS 12DM7
  • Knowledge of O Licence compliance
  • LGV/HGV licence
