We are currently recruiting for a Traffic Management Supervisor to join and lead a Traffic Management team.  This role will be located from our site in Leeds, and you will be required to travel across the assigned region of works. This role is easily commutable from Leeds, Dewsbury, Bradford, Sheffield, Huddersfield, Manchester, Wakefield, Halifax, Barnsley, Doncaster, Castleford, Pontefract, York, Wetherby, Harrogate and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility

As the Traffic Management Supervisor you will be responsible for the successful delivery of traffic management schemes by Tarmac and or their sub-contractors. As well as you will provide guidance on traffic management matters to the Tarmac company on whose contract/contracts upon which they are operating to ensure their objectives and targets are achieved leading to the successful overall delivery of the project.

You will also manage the traffic management providers on site (either internal or external providers) to obtain the best possible commercial result for the project and successfully manage any challenge process/processes which Tarmac’s client/s may possess.

Other responsibilities for this role of Traffic Management Supervisor will include:

  • Effective planning, programming and delivery of programme of works
  • Achievement of, and year-on-year improvement of Company, Contractual and Scheme KPI’s
  • Ensure change controls are diligently managed on site
  • H & S – Zero accidents and environmental incidents
  • Effectively manage site teams to ensure career progression and competency is achieved
  • Work collaboratively with Tarmacs Health, Safety & Wellbeing advisor to promote best practice across all works and ensure all Health and Safety standards are being adhered too across all works
  • Ensure training qualifications and competence requirements are in place and monitored for all employees within their team
  • Ensure any CDM regulations (principle contractor responsibilities) are being adhered too across all works
  • Ensure environmental processes and best practice across the contract
  • Ensure traffic management compliance
  • Ensure all Health & Safety briefings are delivered to teams and promote Near miss reporting

You must be able to travel across the region of work, this could be local or the entire UK – overnight accommodation will be arranged for you

The Ideal Candidate

It is preferred that the successful candidate for the role of Traffic Management Supervisor will have the following:

ESSENTIAL

  • NHSS 12A/B LTMO (Traffic Safety and Control officer)
  • A certificate in Site Safety Management
  • Experience in construction and all highways works
  • Experience in Highways Maintenance at a supervisory level
  • A valid UK driving licence

DESERIABLE

  • NHSS 12D
  • NRSWA Supervisor card
  • Knowledge of Fleet Management
  • Knowledge of O Licence compliance
  • LGV/HGV licence
