Trainee Operative

We are currently looking for a Trainee Operative to join our team in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire.

Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee/experienced Highway Maintenance Operative to work with the highway maintenance division and assist in the delivery of the A1M Darrington to Disforth scheme in North Yorkshire. Responsibilities include:

• Routine Maintenance work, and minor civl's where where applicable on the high speed road network.
• Winter Maintenance duties and attendance at incidents in the network.
• Participation in both the out of hour emergency rota and winter maintenance duties will be essential for the role

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will have prior experience of  highway maintenance, highway construction or general civil engineering projects is preferred. A HGV Class 1 licence is preferred, although for the right candidate training will be given. Other skills include:

• A passion for safety
• Drive and ambition to succeed
• Good problem solving skills
• The abiltiy to work in a small team
