We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Supervisor - Night Shift to join and supportively work to lead our fantastic Asphalt and Load Out team at our Mountsorrel Quarry, Quorn, near to Loughborough in Leicestershire.  This role is commutable from Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility

The Trainee Supervisor - Night Shift will supervise the Asphalt and Load Out Quarry operations on our plant. Safety and operational standards are the fundamentals of the role of Trainee Supervisor - Night Shift with cost control, people management, delivery to customer needs and performance improvement being key. Managing plant compliance with business policies and procedures and ensuring that legislative compliance is also a strong aspect of the role.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities of the Trainee Supervisor - Night Shift, not exhaustive:

• Leading and active supervisory of the Asphalt and Load Out Quarry operational teams, along with the management of contractors also working on site in the area of operations
• Delivery of toolbox talks
• Support the management of all aspects of daily production including operational costs and control stocks
• Drive operational performance through KPI’s
• Learn to effectively coach and performance manage all direct reports
• Support timely resolution of queries assigned to the sector
• Take responsibility for their own safety and that of colleagues and business partners
• Maintain site housekeeping to a high standard
• Support and monitor Asphalt and Load Out operations to meet customer needs whilst meeting internal quality requirements
• Involvement in budgets relating to the plant you are responsible for, these being both fixed and variable costs

The role is a NIGHTS role with OT available to meet with the plant’s production needs

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role the ideal candidate for the position of Trainee Supervisor - Night Shift you will have experience and knowledge of:

ESSENTIAL Experience

• Previous experience of an Asphalt and Load Out in a Quarry environment – would prove highly beneficial
• Knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems
• Working knowledge of production processes
• Working knowledge of H&S and Environmental policies
