We are currently looking for an experienced Works Accountant to join our friendly team based in Dunbar site, East Lothian. Here at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.

Role Responsibility

As the sucesfull candidate you will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for the ownership of the plant production book. You will update records and challenge the numbers where required. Produce daily, weekly and monthly production stats, with true ownership and understanding of the numbers and build accountability of budgets with department heads.

You will work closely with the Finance Business Partner to cover purchase requests, goods receipting, accounts payable queries as well as other additional duties to ensure timely and accurate reports can be run for the plant.

You will be responsible for working closely with the Plant Manager and senior team for ensuring continuous improvements in Variable and Fixed Costs and production and technical KPIs. As well as provide Support to the central finance team on financial reporting and analysis.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment as a Works Accountant or Plant Accountant. As well as possess good communication, IT knowladge and have a real desire in developing your skills.

Qualifications

• A level education or equivalent
• Able to demonstrate high level of written and numerical literacy, with strong excel skills
• AAT Qualified and Progressing towards ACCA or CIMA qualifications
