We are currently looking for a Vehicle Banksman to join our team in Greenwich, London. We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.
Role Responsibility
Working as part of a small team, the Vehicle Banksman will primarily be responsible for managing the traffic flow of HGV vehicles both in & out of site.
This job role is a great opportunity for an introductory role into a busy concrete manufacturing business.
Progression will be encouraged, and training given to aid the successful candidate to allow them to move up the ranks and eventually become part of a multi skilled team in the raw material handling, testing & production of ready mixed concrete.
Other daily shared responsibilities once trained, will include:
· Safe running of a state of the art Liebherr concrete plant.
· Loading vehicles with high spec concrete mixes.
· Safe operation of a 360° wheeled excavator.
· Testing and sampling of ready mixed concrete.
· Basic maintenance and fault finding.
· Management of contractors coming onto site.
· Undertake site housekeeping to ensure a pleasant and safe working environment.
· Assist in the achievement of daily production and sales targets.
· Undertaking manual labour, including shovelling, lifting and carrying.
· Maintenance of daily check log sheet.
· Zero safety incidents.
The Ideal Candidate
Previous Vehicle Banksman experience, alternatively:
Key Skills and Competencies
· Preferred experience in manufacturing operations.
· Hold a valid Vehicle banksman ticket (Training will be provided if required)
· Previous experience in a Ready-mix concrete environment (Not advantageous)
· 360° Excavator experience an advantage, but again training will be given
· Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental basics.
· Numeracy and literacy skills.
· Ability to multitask and manage change.
· Able to work on their own, or part of a team.
