About the Role
As Assistant Manager for Capital Accounting, you will be the R2R lead for fixed and lease accounting, acting as the subject matter expert and providing technical guidance across the business. You’ll manage the full end‑to‑end process within your focus area—owning general ledger accounts, delivering high‑quality reconciliations, ensuring compliance, and partnering closely with business unit finance teams
You’ll represent R2R in Business Review meetings, bringing insight and clarity to both balance sheet positions and P&L impacts. The role also includes leading, coaching, and developing a team, ensuring deadlines, KPIs, and quality standards are consistently met

What You’ll Be Doing
- Taking full responsibility for period close activities in your area
- Leading your team to deliver high‑quality balance sheet reconciliations within required timelines
- Reviewing journals and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Owning the balance sheet for your focus area, ensuring strong SAP understanding and alignment with business processes
- Partnering with business unit finance to explain balances, resolve issues, and assess P&L impacts
- Providing insightful adhoc analysis when required
- Acting as the key point of contact for internal and external auditors
- Collaborating with other R2R Assistant Managers on shared objectives and talent development
- Ensuring robust completion of all SOx controls and maintaining a strong internal control environment
- Identifying and delivering continuous improvement and simplification opportunities
- Leading, coaching, and developing your team to foster collaboration, capability and success
The Ideal Candidate
You're a great fit for this role if you have:
Essential Skills & Experience
- Professional qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) or part-qualified with strong relevant experience
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work with large and complex data sets
- Strong understanding of internal controls, including SOx, and both internal and external audit processes
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of IFRS and related accounting regulations
- A proven track record of delivering high‑quality balance sheet control and journal reviews
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Effective time management and project delivery skills for tight deadlines
- Experience with finance systems (SAP and BlackLine desirable)
- Strong accounting capability and attention to detail
- Experience within a shared services environment (desirable)
- A passion for continuous improvement and efficiency
