Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our growing team based in SolihullAs the FP&A Manger you’ll be a key member of the Group Finance team who coordinate the Group wide planning process, including strategic business plan, annual budget and forecasts. The successful candidate will drive enhanced decision-making by developing, implementing and maintaining dynamic models and process improvements to deliver high quality analytics, scenario and predictive planning.  

 

Additionally, you’ll liaise with executive stakeholders to generate management reporting and variance analysis supporting both Tarmacs’ strategic long-term and short-term objectives. 

As the FP&A Manager you will also facilitate assessment and communication of the financial results and provide insight on business trends and initiatives as required. 

Role Responsibility

In this role you will be responsible for a number of tasks including:  

  • Overseeing planning cycles of the Group across business units (budgeting, forecasting, strategic business plan) including timetabling and deliverables 

  • Taking responsibility for monthly management reporting process including liaising with key stakeholders to consolidate the position for the Tarmac Group and provide enhanced analysis of the business performance 

  • Supporting the implementation of improvements to central planning and analysis processes in order to deliver faster and more accurate insights across the business 

  • Coaching and developing direct reports and other members of the finance team regarding best practice financial planning and analysis 

  • Performing first level review of reports and deliverables prepared by the FP&A Analyst and MI & Reporting Analyst 

  • Performing first level review of the submissions received from business units 

  • Taking responsibility for ad hoc data analysis and modelling requirements from the key stakeholders, including financial and non-financial data/assumptions 

  • Supporting Tarmac audit process by providing input into analytical procedures performed by external auditors 

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have well developed and proven financial modelling skills in addition to demonstrable, analytical and data visualisation skills that will be used extensively in this role. Your communication, stakeholder and business partnering abilities will also be required to succeed as will your verbal and written presentation experience. It’s expected that the successful candidate will possess relevant technical financial knowledge along with a professional accounting qualification and probably have around 4-5years pqe FP&A experience or equivalent. 

Last but not least, as you’ll be managing a small team, your people management experience and leadership skills will be important.
