Lab Automation Maintenance Technician

We are currently looking for a Lab Automation Maintenance Technician  to join our team in Tunstead Cement Plant in Buxton.

Role Responsibility

In the role of Lab Automation Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for:

  • The operation and maintenance of the Robolab and associated infrastructure to support the cement production and quality objectives.
  • You will be required to create and undertake preventive maintenance routines and be able to understand and communicate the results as well as troubleshoot faults from diagnostics to rectification in coordination with other departments when necessary.
  • Take responsibility to ensure all testing meets the required internal and external standards, highlighting potential issues to the relevant department when necessary.
  • Understanding the significance of the results generated, the interpretation of these and the implementation of improvements.
  • This role is responsible to ensure the Robolab performs accurate analysis within the statutory legislation and the internal company Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental Standards.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Lab Automation Maintenance Technician will have experience of:

  • Minimum qualification in a light-based mechanical trade such as auto mechanic or higher
  • Experience in working on small mechanical devices including actuators, stepper drives, and pneumatic cylinders
  • Working with automated robotics experience and with pneumatic solenoid operated machinery (preferable)
  • Ability to read and understand pneumatic / control drawings and circuits
  • Commitment to maintaining and improving H&S standards
