Quarry Supervisor

We are currently looking for a Supervisor (Quarry and Asphalt Plant) to join our friendly team based in our Tarmac Barrasford Quarry and Asphalt Plant in Hexham, Northumberland. As well as Hexham this site is easily accessible from Newcastle upon Tyne, North Shields, Consett, Morpeth and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
Reporting directly to the Section Manager, the Supervisor (Quarry and Asphalt Plant) will assist in the management of a busy Asphalt plant and quarry. As Supervisor (Quarry and Asphalt Plant) you will also be responsible for:
- Operating fixed and mobile plants
- Administrative and compliance duties
- Using computer systems (Fortek, SAP, Excel and similar platforms)
- Housekeeping tasks and general maintenance assisting the fitting team
- Adhering to Health and Safety policies and procedures and encouraging others to do so
- Supervising a team (Operators, Fitters, Electricians) across both the quarry and asphalt plant
- Occasional night shifts and weekend working that will be on a rota basis
- Work with other Plant Supervisors to ensure the plant is always running to its expected capacity and in line with the manufacturing and production programme
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of Supervisor (Quarry and Asphalt Plant) will have previous experience of working within a Quarry and or Asphalt plant environment or similar. Supervisor experience is essential. Suitable candidates for the role of Supervisor (Quarry and Asphalt Plant) will also:
- Have working knowledge of operating/maintaining processing plant including excavators, front end loaders & dump-trucks (experience preferred not essential)
- Have working knowledge of operating/maintaining fixed and mobile crushing & screening plants (preferred not essential)
- Possess excellent communication and organisational skills
- Be able to liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levels
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team, providing the motivation to yourself as well as your team to achieve the site production requirements
- Be IT literate (ability to use required computer system)
- Be flexible in their working approach
- Inspire yourself and your team to progress on both a personal and professional level
