Regional Operations Director

We are currently looking for an experienced Regional Operations Director to join our high performing South-West & Wales Aggregates and Asphalt team.

Role Responsibility

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regional Operations Director in Tarmac's South- West & Wales Aggregates and Asphalt business.

Directly managing a team consisting of Operations Managers, a Regional Engineering Manager and a Continuous Improvement Manager and with a remit of circa 250 employees and over 20 sites, you will be tasked with delivering a world class health and safety culture and strong operational performance.

 

By inspiring and empowering your team to perform to their highest level your key deliverables will be:

  

  • Leading the Regional operations team towards a target of zero harm through adherence to all health and safety standards and policies and enabling a culture of health and safety interdependence
  • As part of the South-West & Wales Leadership team, develop and execute through your teams the regional strategy across all disciplines aligned to the wider Tarmac and CRH priorities
  • Coaching your team to create a diverse and inclusive operations function with strong succession plans at all levels
  • Share and implement best practices from across Tarmac, the wider CRH business and externally, working closely with Tarmac's Performance team to drive an optimisation mindset within the operations function
  • Ensuring our asset base is equipped for the short and long term and preparing for this in close partnership with our finance, commercial and land & natural resources teams 
  • Building strong customer, supplier and external partnerships across the industry
  • Ensuring that health & safety, inclusion & diversity and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do

The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader with an ability to be visionary and motivate their team. You must have a proven track record in delivering strong health and safety and financial performance and be able to demonstrate an ability to improve individual performance and develop talent.
