Job Introduction

Hydro International is now proudly part of Tarmac, within the CRH Group, combining specialist water-management expertise with the scale, stability and opportunity of one of the UK’s leading construction materials businesses.

For over 40 years, Hydro International has been recognised for engineering excellence in advanced water management solutions. Working with municipal, industrial and construction customers worldwide, we help to improve water performance, reduce environmental impact and protect communities from flood risk and water pollution.

Operating in more than 40 countries and supported by a global network of over 80 distribution partners, Hydro plays a key role within CRH Infrastructure Products, leading the water management industry through innovation, sustainability and a safety‑first culture. As part of Tarmac, we are building an even stronger platform for growth, collaboration and career development.

The Role

We’re looking for a commercially driven Regional Sales Manager to take ownership of the Midlands region, growing market share and building long‑term partnerships across our drainage and water management portfolio.

This is a role for a confident deal‑maker who knows the drainage and heavy civils market, thrives on autonomy and enjoys being front‑and‑centre with customers. You’ll represent a premium range of trusted solutions, working closely with builders’ merchants, contractors and project stakeholders to create demand and deliver sustainable growth.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Growing sales and expanding Hydro’s presence across the Midlands region
  • Building strong, lasting relationships with builders’ merchants, main contractors and groundwork specialists
  • Proactively identifying opportunities, uncovering customer needs and winning high‑value projects
  • Owning your territory — managing your pipeline, forecasting accurately and delivering results
  • Following projects through from initial engagement to successful close
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure a seamless, high‑quality customer experience
  • Using CRM systems (Goldmine and MS Dynamics) to manage activity, opportunities and performance

This is a role for someone who enjoys independence, thrives on results and knows how to convert opportunities into long‑term customer partnerships.

About You

You’ll bring strong commercial credibility and technical understanding, along with:

  • Proven experience selling drainage or heavy civils products
  • Proven experience with sustainable drainage solutions
  • Strong technical knowledge across stormwater storage, flow control and treatment systems
  • A successful track record selling through builders’ merchants and directly to contractors
  • Confident communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • A self‑motivated, resilient approach — you own your region and your outcomes
  • The ability to manage complex sales cycles from first conversation through to contract award

Must Haves

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Valid passport

Why Join Us

Our benefits include:

  • Life cover – 2× annual salary
  • Company sick pay
  • Minimum 23 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Flu vaccinations
